Month 6
July 29th, 2015 Six Months!!
As of today it’s been six whole months since Ariel popped out and greeted us! Since then our lives have pretty much revolved around the little angel. Every time someone asks me how it is to be a mom, I just say that I can’t believe how fun it is! Ariel keeps us laughing all the time, especially the last 2 months or so. She is always smiling when she sees us, laughs at the silly things we do, and works incredibly hard at becoming mobile. I admire her persistence! She wants to learn to walk so badly that standing her up will always make her happy, even if she is in the midst of crying. How cute.
We love that when we go out she smiles at everyone. In fact, we just got back from the library, where 3 people commented on what a happy baby she is. It’s true. She’s super happy. Her happiness spills over to everyone around us. I feel like I am attached to someone that just goes around making everyone happy. It’s pretty awesome to think she’s come this far.
What have we been up to this month? Brian and I are constantly trying to enrich her life, expose her to new and exciting sounds, smells, sights, and textures, so we take her out a lot. We visit stores, restaurants, parks, walks, libraries, beaches, concerts (Coronado and Hulabaloo!), church, bbqs, friend’s houses, and the YMCA child watch area. We are even using the Doman method to teach her to read and do math!
Our house has transformed into baby play land. She has become an expert roller (we call her roley poler) so we now have mats spread out over the entire living room so she can roll safely. She’s outgrown her jiggle chair, and grown into the jumperoo! She is scooting all over the place, and we know she will soon be crawling and then toddling!! We will be running after her nonstop!
We are super excited to see what develops in the next 6 months! We love little Ariel more than we ever thought possible. Just looking back at the pictures of the first week

I feel like a lot has happened since my last entry. Ariel’s grandma Christy Leppla and partner Lionel came for several days to see Ariel and celebrate Brian’s first Father’s Day. Ariel was a real “Blisser”, as we call her, charming the pants off of everyone with her smiles and little sounds. She is also a real drooler these days so she has to wear a bib at all times!
Today she did something she’s been attempting for several days: she did a full roll over from back to front, without her arm stopping her. She has been holding her head up super high and proud at a 90 degree angle for over a week now, and when I hold her under the arms or by the hands she can stand up and walk. She also sits quite well in her chair by herself!
